Toni Cornell, daughter of late Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, reflected on the profound experience of performing one of her father’s songs during his band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on November 8. Toni, 21, sang the Superunknown standout, “Fell on Black Days,” alongside Heart’s Nancy Wilson on acoustic guitar. In an emotional Instagram post on Tuesday (November 11), Toni congratulated her dad’s bandmates, while stating, “Soundgarden belonged in the Rock Hall from the day they started making their revolutionary music.” She described her performance as “one of the greatest honors of my life, and one of the hardest things I’ve ever done,” while adding that, “My dad’s absence is always felt, but singing his songs always makes me feel closer to him.” She concluded her message on a personal note, writing, “Daddy, you are beloved and your music will forever change people’s lives. Long live Soundgarden.” (Billboard)
