Darwin’s BASSINTHEGRASS returned to Mindil Beach on Saturday, May 16, 2026, bringing about 12,000 music fans to one of the Northern Territory’s biggest live music events.
Organizers said the festival featured three stages and a broad lineup that included Denzel Curry, Galantis, Peking Duk, The Living End, G Flip, The Teskey Brothers, Ball Park Music, and several other acts. The event mixed international names with Australian favorites, giving the beachside crowd a full day of live music across multiple styles.
The festival also added new on-site experiences this year, including karaoke and beauty-focused activations, expanding the event beyond the main performances. Those additions helped build a relaxed festival setting around the music, food, and coastal location.
Local tourism operators also saw the impact. Darwin hotels recorded strong demand during a busy weekend for the city, with the festival adding to visitor numbers and nightlife activity.
BASSINTHEGRASS remains a key music event for Darwin, combining live entertainment with a setting that continues to draw both locals and interstate visitors.
