Government assisted evacuation plans:
Enmarket Arena is now the new Evacuation Assembly Area (EAA). If you wish to evacuate via the Chatham County assistance plan take any Chatham Area Transit bus to Enmarket Arena FOR FREE.
Also new, residents will now be evacuated to Macon-Bibb County shelters thanks to a new state agreement. Transportation will still be provided via charter bus.
PETS will be accepted at the (EAA) and transported to an inland animal shelter. This services applies to cats, dogs and service animals.
Hurricane Registry – If you need assistance evacuating your home due to a lack of resources, a medical or functional need you may be eligible for the CEMA Hurricane Registry. Learn more or sign up for the Hurricane Registry by calling 1-833-CHD-REGISTER (833-243-7344).
Life Insurance – If a Mandatory Evacuation Order is issued, you choose not to evacuate and you parish in the evacuation zone before the Mandatory Evacuation Order has been lifted your life insurance policy could be rendered null & void.
